• CSET has a partnership with New England board of Higher Education, Boston for promoting in Romania the "PHOTON Problem Based Learning (PBL)" Project. Dan Sporea, CSET Director and Elena Vladescu, teacher at Colegiul National Vocational "Nicolae Titulescu", Slatina completed a "PHOTON Problem Based Learning (PBL)" Project Intenssive Professional Development Workshop at Boston University Photonics Center, Boston, Massachusetts sponsored by the New England Board of Higher Education

• The High School "Grigore Moisil" from Bucharest, technically supported by CSET, presented a project at the Forum of the Innovative Teachers, Zagreb, Croatia, 6-8 martie 2008

• The Optical Society of America - OSA donated to CSET an educational kit aimed to the study of optics (Optics Suitcase)
• Vernier International Inc. donated sensors to be used in the experiments and demo sessions for the secondary school
• CSET received from AMSTEL Science and Mathematics Education Institute of the University of Amsterdam, Holland a kit for data acquisition to be used for the teachers training, both from primary and secondary school.
• The International Society SPIE ofered to the Center for Science Education and Training a grant dedicated to the acquisition of the needed equipment for teachers training in the field of optics and photonics
• Ocean Optics Company with the assistance of Compact Industrial from Romania, donated to CSET an educational kit in the field of spectrometry, which will help the teachers training courses and the demo sessions in schools.
• The team made by The Holly Cross School din New Malden, Surrey, Great Britain (Lawrence Williams and Vincent McDonnell), CSET (Dan Sporea) and the High School "Grigore Moisil" from Bucharest (Mihaela Garabet and Ion Neacsu) received a Prize for Science at the contest organized by the Britain Rolls-Royce Company, for the outstanding contribution to science teaching at the preuniversity level

• Science demo sessions in schools and school students visits at the National Institute for Laser, Plasma and Radiation Physics.
• CSET is distributing the NEMO's Educational Kit on Micro-Optics offered by the Network of Excellence on Micro-Optics, Department of Applied Physics and Photonics, Vrije University, Brussels.
